Brompton Homes Ltd is a property development company, part of a private property business with more than 40 years’ experience in property investment, renovation, development and construction and agency.
We are a family-run business, guided by an ethos of excellence and integrity. In an industry dominated by the large national house-building corporations we are a niche producer emphasising quality, not quantity, and we pay much attention to, and take much pride in, each home that we create.
Our knowledge of, and love for, historical English architecture engenders a commitment to preserve features in period buildings that we restore and convert. In our new-build projects we are determined to respect the historic environment in which we build. To bring our vision for our buildings into reality we engage architects who share our passion for high quality design and the preservation of heritage.
The number of SME (small and medium enterprise) homebuilders has fallen from 12,000 to 2,500 over the past 40 years. Smaller housebuilders provide just 10% of new homes in the UK, down from 39% before the 2008 crash and well below the level in most European countries. The Deputy Prime Minister has recently stressed the government’s priority to encourage SME development, as essential in reaching new housing targets. Our aim is to do our small part in delivering more of the homes that our country needs, along with other SME housebuilders. While the large national housebuilders look to build on green fields outside existing towns and in the greenbelt, we are nimble enough to spot opportunities in brownfield and infill sites, and to repurpose redundant commercial buildings.
